Data License Agreement

Effective October 15, 2026

This agreement sets out how you may use data you buy from Devintel LLC ("DevIntel", "we"). It is between DevIntel and the organization named on your order ("you"). It applies when you place an order and forms part of our Terms of Service.

In short

  • Internal use. Use the data anywhere inside your organization.
  • No raw resale. Raw rows can't be resold or redistributed.
  • Purchased states only. Each license covers the states on your order.

1. Definitions

  • "Licensed Data": the data files delivered for your order, such as one or more states of the US Companies dataset, and any copies of them.
  • "Raw Data": Licensed Data in record-level form, or any extract that is substantially the same.
  • "Derived Work": analysis, models, aggregates, scores, visualizations, enriched records in your own systems, or other output you create using the Licensed Data that doesn't let a third party reconstruct a substantial part of the Raw Data.
  • "Authorized Users": your employees, and contractors working on your behalf who are bound by obligations at least as protective as this agreement.

2. License

Once your order is paid, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to use the Licensed Data for your organization's internal business purposes, through Authorized Users, including your affiliates' internal purposes. Each order licenses the snapshot delivered for that order; updates or later releases are separate purchases.

3. What you may do

  • load the Licensed Data into your own databases, tools and applications;
  • join it with your own data and with other data you're entitled to use;
  • create Derived Works and use them for any lawful purpose, including sharing them with your clients;
  • keep backup and archival copies.

4. What you may not do

  • sell, resell, sublicense, publish, share or otherwise distribute Raw Data to anyone outside your organization;
  • make Raw Data available through a public website, API, data marketplace or similar service;
  • use the Licensed Data to build or improve a product that competes with DevIntel's datasets;
  • use the Licensed Data for decisions about an individual's eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing or similar purposes, or in any way that would make it a consumer report;
  • use the Licensed Data in breach of any law, including privacy, anti-spam, telemarketing and anti-discrimination laws;
  • remove or obscure any notices we include in the files.

5. Ownership

DevIntel keeps all rights in the Licensed Data as a compilation, including its selection, structure and processing. We don't claim ownership of underlying public facts. You own the Derived Works you create.

6. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for how you use the Licensed Data, including any outreach to businesses or people listed in it, and for keeping it reasonably secure. If we tell you that a record must be corrected or removed, for example after a valid request from the person concerned, you agree to stop using that record in Raw Data form within a reasonable time.

7. No warranty

The Licensed Data comes from public sources and may contain errors or omissions. Except as stated in the refund section of our Terms of Service, it is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Liability

The limitation of liability in our Terms of Service applies to this agreement. Our total liability under it is limited to the fees you paid for the order in question.

9. Termination

If you materially breach this agreement and don't fix the breach within 30 days of our written notice, we may end your license. You must then stop using and delete the Raw Data. You may keep Derived Works created before termination in line with this agreement.

10. General

You may not assign this agreement without our consent, except to a successor of your business that agrees to be bound by it. Texas law governs this agreement, as set out in our Terms of Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
